Grapes: 50% Syrah / 40% Carignan / 10% Granache Noir
Style: Powerful, fruity
The virtues of this luxurious and special wine demands shouting about. Its depth of flavour and complexity is simply breath-taking.
A luscious nose of warm spices and fleshy ripe fruit such as wild strawberry, blackberry and bilberry gives a hint of freshness to come. Touches of roasting, cocoa and smoke enfold it and express all the maturity and concentration of the vintage. In the mouth it is frank and balanced, with firm, silky tannins and balsamic touches of vanilla. The wood is nicely blended in.
A seductive and alluring wine from low-yield, over-ripened grapes which sing the song of their terroir. All beautifully and lovingly made by Cathy and Philippe Sisquielle at Chateau de Rey.
Drink with all roast meats, game and rich meat dishes or, of course, blue cheeses.
