Grapes: Grenache Blanc/Maccabeu/Muscat d'Alexandrie
Style: Light, off-dry
Region: France, Languedoc-Roussillon, Côtes Catalan
The name: Si's Plau means "please" in Catalan, akin to the French s'il vous plait.
How it's made: A very, very early harvest ensures freshness and the required amount of acidity and low degree of alcohol. Light pressing of each grape variety again gives freshness and purity of fruit. Then they add carbon dioxide when bottling to give very fine bubbles and more and more freshness.
Tasting: Bags of freshness is the by-word for this light and easy-drinking wine, full of fruit and designed to slip down easily and in quantity - hence the low alcohol! The citrussy and flowery aromas are followed by intense fruit in the mouth, balanced by the freshness underpinned by the early harvesting. The small bubbles give a light and tingly finish.
A truly delightful wine! Another gem from Chateau de Rey.
