Grape: Pinot Blanc
Style: Elegant, Dry
Cave de Turckheim is situated in the pretty village of Turckheim, just slightly north west of Colmar. Firmly established for 50 years as one of the best co-operatives in the world, Cave de Turckheim always pays the utmost respect to the wine, combining rigour, know-how and patience with the latest technology and a steady stream of investment. Michel Lihrmann has been their senior winemaker for over 25 years and strongly believes that varietals in Alsace should express their delicate characteristics and favours the dryer style of Alsace wines.
Grapes are sourced from granite slopes from the villages of Zimmerbach, Walbach, Wihr au Val, which constitute the Val St-Grégoire, at the beginning of the “Vallée de Munster”. Traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks.
This Turckheim Reserve Pinot Blanc is pale golden in colour with light perfumed aromatics of peaches and citrus, with hints of spice. The palate is delicate with a silky texture, good palate weight and touches of minerality and spice.
A lovely aperitif, or goes well with fish, seafood, poultry, pork fillet, salads, quiches. The palate is direct: like crunchy apple with a hint of fatter lemon, lots of raciness, crunch and food-friendly appeal. A sublime wine, easily matched to light fish dishes, grilled chicken and pork chops!
