At Bon Cru, we want to change the way people perceive luxury wine. We want to make it more accessible and less intimidating.
Our management team are hospitality and e-commerce veterans who are passionate about wine and want to share their passion and knowledge with the world.
We’re here to help you learn how to appreciate wine, discover new favourites, and make it easy for you to order wine online and have it conveniently delivered to your door.
Our wine list includes a collection of fine wines from notable wineries across the world, that provide excellent value.
We have a range of red wine, white wine and rosé wine to satisfy the tastes of even the biggest wine snob.
But wine snobs aren’t our target market.
Our mission is to make fine wine accessible and understandable for everyone.
So, if you’ve always wanted to understand more about the world of wine and are yet to uncover the joys of finding your favourite varieties and wine producers—you’re in the right place at Bon Cru.
And if you’re already enthusiastic about wine, we might be able to introduce you to a few bottles you haven’t come across before.
You should be able to enjoy a glass of wine without feeling like you need an advanced degree in oenology (the study of wine and winemaking).
You don’t need to know about type of grape, vineyard or growing region of your wine to enjoy a glass of red wine with an evening meal, or a glass of rosé on a warm summer day.
But we understand that a lack of wine knowledge can sometimes make people self-conscious in certain social settings and can make choosing wine more confusing and frustrating than it needs to be.
So, wine education is a key component of our business, and is why we’ve chosen to set up this blog.
No nonsense, no jargon. Just simple facts about the different wine varieties, production regions, wine labels, common wine pairings and even some recommendations for you to try.
We’re here to help, and we’re keen to build a supportive community. So, if you’ve got any wine questions, please let us know and we’ll get them answered in our blog.
By following Bon Cru, you’ll begin to understand what you’re buying when you choose that next bottle of wine for your enjoyment.
Looking for affordable luxury wines that you can’t find in your local supermarkets?
You’re in the right place.
Bon Cru is more than just another online wine store.
We’re a link to some the best small wineries and vineyards in the world, who often produce great wines which aren’t commercially available in mainstream supermarkets.
So, if you’re looking for something a little bit different, check out our range of great wines. We’re sure you’ll find something a little different, whatever your tastes.
When the current owners acquired the business in 2021, it was called Affordable Wine.
It was a great name. But it only addressed part of what we do.
Yes, our wines are affordable. But they are also luxury, high-quality wines from some of the best vineyards in the world. And in some cases, they are quite rare finds.
The name also didn’t capture our desire to help wine enthusiasts grow the list of great wines they’ve sampled and help those who are new to wine to grow their knowledge.
So, we wanted to come up with a name that was more representative our what we stand for.
“Bon Cru” is a very loose translation for ‘good growth’ or ‘good vintage’ – which is what we’re all about. We’re passionate about great wine, and helping our customers grow their knowledge and experience of wine.
Our blog is going to be our home for educational and inspirational content about wine.
It’s a jargon-free area and topics we’ll cover include, grape guides, wine across the world, wine and food pairings, top wine recommendations, best wines for different occasions, how to read wine labels, how to best serve different types of wine and many other topics.
We want to make sure our content is relevant and valuable to our community of wine enthusiasts, and those discovering wine for the first time. So, if you’ve got any recommendations or suggestions for blog content, we’d love to hear from you at email@example.com
