Grapes: Picpoule Blanc
Style: Zippy and Zesty, full-flavoured, structured
We are delighted to have got hold of some more of this understandably popular wine which is much appreciated by our customers. This 2019 vintage certainly has the wow factor from the very first sip. When you try this, you'll know what we mean.
Picpoul de Pinet is often referred to as a French alternative to Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, but we can testify that this stunning 2019 vintage is in a different league. Villa Blanche is made in our favourite wine region, the Languedoc-Rousillon, in one of the sunniest vineyards in France where the cultural methods and vinification are natural and respectful of the environment. The long warm days and cool nights are the perfect environment for growing the grapes which make this wine.
Green-gold in colour and full-bodied, this is a well balanced and fruit driven wine with excellent structure and mouth feel. Zesty, zippy and citrussy, with the characteristic "pique" on the lips (the Poule).
Perfect with creamy mussels, pork or chicken in tasty sauces, fish paella or roast chicken. Drink no colder than 11° or 12°
Critically acclaimed; 16.5 / 20 Jancis Robinson MW.
